Where remedial action is undertaken, generally as part of redevelopment, then the local authority and regulators will normally require a ‘closure report' detailing the works carried out, the QA systems applied, the tests undertaken (and to be continued, on some sites), certificates of where any waste materials were taken/disposed, and a statement that the works have been carried out in full accord with an approved methodology.
*Many of these latter stages, and particularly any transaction assessment of existing reports and remediation, are often carried out by a SiLC, a Specialist in Land Condition, who will be a chartered professional engineer, surveyor, scientist or allied profession who has at least eight years relevant expertise and has undergone further peer-evaluation and examination to achieve that registration.
