Site Investigation

This is now generically used for the physical/intrusive stage of assessment of the land for both ground engineering needs (foundations, groundwater, infrastructure) and environmental considerations (contamination; soil, water and vapours).

It is reported as a specific requirement/stage of a planning condition for redevelopment. Its report will include the conceptual site model, (probably) some form of risk assessment and either qualitative (opinion, no specific data) or quantitative (data).
