The Land Restoration Trust is seeking planning permission from Knowsley Council to restore the former Cronton Colliery as open space and plans to oversee restoration for the first time.

The Eatonfield Group is buying Corus’ rail site in Workington and hopes to develop a planning and remediation strategy for the site with Allerdale Borough Council.

Bolton Council has launched a development prospectus for its Innovation Zone, 67ha of the town centre (including 30ha of commercial development space) where it hopes to encourage 4,000 new jobs and £300m of investment in the next decade.

Lewes District Council has commissioned Angel Property to prepare major redevelopment proposals for the North Street area of Lewes which was redeveloped on an ironworks site after World War II for industry and warehousing.
South East: Snowdown Colliery
Dover District Council has given outline planning permission to South East England Development Agency plans for 25,000m² of business space and a 30ha country park at the former Snowdown Colliery in Kent, the last major former pit in the county to see regeneration proposals some 20 years after it closed.
