The Government is “continuing to examine the framework that would be needed to implement tax increment financing”, according to communities minister Barbara Follett in a Commons written answer.
Robert Neill had asked if there are plans to provide assistance to accelerated development zone pilot schemes run by councils.
She told him there are no active pilots but the Pre-Budget Report set out the continuing work and said the Government would consider the primary legislation needed if schemes were to be introduced.
