The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has issued invitations to participate in dialogue to two consortia which prequalified for its competition to appoint a parent body organisation for the Dounreay Site Restoration site licence company.
Over the next 12 weeks, formal dialogue with the two will see both have access to the site and personnel to help them with their final tender submissions.
The two are the Babcock Dounreay Partnership (Babcock Nuclear Services, CH2M Hill International Nuclear Services and URS International Holdings (UK)) and Caithness Solutions (Energy Solutions EU and Amec Nuclear Holdings).
"We are pleased to be entering this crucial stage of the competition," said competition project manager Graeme Rankin.
"This really is the crux of the competition process, and is vital in helping the participants put together their proposals. It will have a significant impact on making sure that we achieve the best possible outcome for the Dounreay site."
This stage of the competition process is expected to conclude in April and the Authority hopes to award a contract early in 2012.
