Contingent liabilities from the management of the European Regional Development Fund will depend on the audit of each programme in its 2000-6 round which is due to close on 31 March, according to communities minister Rosie Winterton.
In a Commons written question, shadow communities secretary Caroline Spelman had asked for DCLG's current estimate of contingent liabilities for alleged financial irregularities and consequent corrections ordered by the European Commission.
Ms Winterton said the timing and magnitude of liabilities would depend on the audit process and reviewed in the light of their outcome.
However, the Department has already agreed £20.1m in corrections in 2008 and £26.9m this year.
