The Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management's newly established Global Contaminated Land Network now has a chair - White Young Green's Gary Winder.
Mr Winder has had over 20 years experience in environmental engineering and has been with WYG since 2004, specializing in redevelopment of brownfield land including design and implementation of remediation, environmental risk assessment, control of abnormal development costs and contract management.
"CIWEM's vision for the network is to bring together all those interested in contaminated land so as to share knowledge and good practice, support the vital relationship between academic research and general practice and to be a sounding board for current and new initiatives," he said.
CIWEM says its Network is intended "to bring together governmental bodies, industry, academia and other stakeholders to stimulate the sharing of knowledge and good practice in the management of contaminated land".
It joins a number of other professional bodies with similar aims.
