The mayor of London has agreed to find £16m over two years to sustain progress on two major projects stalled by the recession. He has allocated £13m to the Clapham Park development in Lambeth and £3m to Hale Village in Haringey.
The Clapham Park project will see additional affordable housing provided on the 3,000 home estate while Hale Village is a £400m regeneration scheme beside Tottenham Hale station and the new funding will enable Lee Valley Estates and Newlon Housing Trust to complete the 314 home first phase.
"Our job is to keep projects like Hale Village and Clapham Park moving during these difficult times," said Homes & Communities Agency chairman Robert Napier.
