The Olympic Park Legacy Company is actively looking to use its 100ha of land as an asset to attract developers after the Olympic Games in 2012, according to Andrew Altman chief executive of the OPLC.

Speaking at the Base London Event at the Excel Centre in east London, he said he was looking for accelerated regeneration for a generation.

He said the 30 bridges in the 26 mile corridor linked into various neighbourhoods so they were physically connected, not rejected.

Residents of the surrounding areas would have access to the park and facilities which would encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Incubator businesses would be able to use the media centre facilities.

Other developments he mentioned include a waste to energy gasification plant and a retail academy.
