Taunton Deane Borough Council has signed a partnership agreement with St Modwen to develop a 7ha brownfield site in Taunton for offices and residential use.
The Firepool development is intended to deliver 50,000m² of offices, 400 homes, leisure facilities and shops over a 12-year period.
The scheme is part of Project Taunton which aims to redevelop 50ha for employment and housing.
"We were impressed by St. Modwen's approach to the scheme bid and we now look forward to progressing the planning application and commencing building works," said Project Taunton project director Ian Franklin.
