Donald Trump has successfully convinced Aberdeenshire Council to add five further areas of land to his massive greenfield golfing resort and housing development consent near Balmedie.
The original hard-fought sprawl permission on the environmentally sensitive land was forced through by the Scottish Government.
Not all of the new plots are in the ownership of Trump International Golf Links Scotland, however, and some of the owners are refusing to sell.
The Council indicated, however, that it is not willing to use compulsory purchase powers for the 40ha.
"Land ownership is not a planning matter and certainly has no relevance whatsoever to the planning applications we have in front of us today," said Formartine Area Committee chairman John Loveday.
