Wolverhampton City Council is seeking tenders for the remediation of 12 residential gardens located on an urban housing estate.
The estate was built on a former factory site, and remediation is being carried out under Part 2A to remove soils contaminated with asbestos, lead and mercury.
It is envisaged that the successful contractor will have a proven track record of dealing with asbestos and remediation in such sensitive locations.
The successful tenderer will be overseen by Wolverhampton City Council and its environmental consultants, but will be responsible for the remediation design. The successful contractor will be required to have all necessary accreditation in place.
Deadline for submission of completed tenders is 18 December 2009.
